The U.S. Virtual Herbarium conducted its first annual survey of herbaria in the United States in 2011. A similar survey was done
in 2012. The tables and maps below compare 2011 to 2012.

The two tables below show changes over this year. More than 3 million specimens were databased, more than 1 million
specimens were imaged, and more herbaria reported being involved with digitization efforts.
